REDUCED SERVICE

A reduced Sunday tram service is to be provided by the Auckland Transport Board in future. Acting on the recommendation of the manager Hie board decided to run 149 fewer trips from the suburban terminal into the city on Sundays and 142 fewer trips out, the arrangement allowing the use of 17 fewer trams during the day and the release of 34 men from Sunday employment. The financial saving effected by the reduced service is estimated at £4594 per annum, of which £2475 will ba saved in the wages bilk
