“SPLENDID FAILURE”
DRAMATIC INTERLUDE AT POLITICAL MEETING

Hobart, October 1.
A meeting addressed by the Prime Minister (Mr S. M. Bruce) at the City Hall ended in a dramatic fashion. When questions were invited a man In clerical garb stood up in front of the hall and demanded to be allowed to address the meeting from the platform. “I am Father Graham,” he shouted to the crowd, whfn his request was refused. He called for cheers for Mr. Scullin, then shouted to Mr. Bruce: “Good-bye, you splendid failure!” and gtrode theatrically from the hall. The meeting concluded amid hooting and counter-cheers.
