The depression In the Tasman Sea yesterday crossed the Dominion last night, but proved to be very shallow. It has, however, deepened somewhat to the eastward. A new depression is moving on to the Wintte'south-westeriy at first and moderate to fresh, veering later to west and north. Seas generally smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters Variable winds, tending northerly, and later freshening in the Eastern Tasman Sea, with smooth to moderate seas. Weather cloudy to overcast at times, but mainly fair at first. Hater becoming unsettled in the western districts of the South Island, with some rain. Temperatures becoming milder.
