By Telegraph—rress Association. Auckland, September 30. At the annual dinner of the Auckland Typographical Union, Mr. C. EL Chapman, M.P., said that the time was ripe for the formation of a joint council of employers and employees in the pnntim, industry. The watchword of such a conn cil shouid be efficiency, and it could be expected to consider a scheme of superannuation, provision for those in the industrv who were* unemployed, and niany other matters of interest to those engaged in the various branches of printing.
