“Thou Shalt Not Pass.”—The great war memorial was unveiled at Verdun recently, on the occasion of the thirteenth anniversary of the town’s recapture from the Germans, and the ceremony also coincided with the festivities marking the completion of the rebuilding of the town. The monument bears the inscription: "To the victory and the soldiers of Verdun. The photograh was taken after the official ceremony, and on the steps may be seen M.
