The New Zealand Shipping Company s liner Ruapehu arrived at Wellington at 6.50 a.m. yesterday from Timaru, and berthed at the Glasgow Wharf for further loading. The vessel will sail from Wellington at 6 a.m. on Sunday. for Napier to fill up, and will leave the latter port oil Tuesday for Southampton and London, via the Panama route. THE MAHIA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, advise that tho Mahia will leave New Plymouth to-day for the Wanganui roadstead, Lyttelton and Wellington. The vessel is now due at Wellington next Wednesday, and will leavo here on Thursday for Napier, Gisborne and Auckland. HURUNUI DUE WEDNESDAY. The New Zealand Shipping Company report that the Hurunui, which arrived at Auckland on Wednesday night from London, will leave the northern par' on Monday evening for Wellington. The vessel 18 due here next Wednesday. PORT NAPIER AT ROTTERDAM. Cabled news has been received by the C, and D. Line that the Port Napier ar. rived at Rotterdam on Wednesday after, noon from Wellington. The vessel sailed from here on May 14. BRAND WITH JARRAII. The Norwegian motor-ship Brand arrived at Auckland at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday from Bunbury, Western Australia. She has a cargo of hardwood which she loaded at Bgsselton and Bunbury. The latter port was cleared st 11 pan. on June 11, and a direct passage was made to Auckland. Following westerly and south-westerly gales were experienced on the trip, which was otherwise fair. The Brand, which is under charter to G.. J. Moore and Co., of San Francisco, was last in Auckland in July. 1927. when she was a new ship, having come off the stocks that year. Arter the Auckland portion of her cargo has been discharged she is to sail for Wellington. Lyttelton and Dunedin to complete. Her movements thereafter nr® not yet known. Line’s chartered steamer City of Batavfa arrived at Auckland from New York on Tuesday afternoon, and subsequently berthed to unload case oil and general merchandise.. She is expected: to sail for Lyttelton, Wellington and Dunedin to-day to complete discharge, The vessel was at Auckland last September, On her present voyage she sailed from New York on May 17. Generally fair weather prevailed, until the vessel wa? south of Pitcairn Island, afterwards continuous westerly gales and high seas, which were'encountered, impeded the vessel's progress’ considerably and delayed her arrival by about three days.
