RIFLE-SHOOTING
- ♦ KARORI club The presentation of prizes won by members of the Karori Rille Club during the past season took place on Saturday evening at the club’s annual smoke concert. The principal prizes were won as follow: —Club championship, Pearce Challenge Shield and Willoughby Cup, Rflmn. F. W. Ching; Moore Memorial Cup, .Witcombe and Caldwell Cup, Colonel R. J. Collins Memorial Cup, Bertram Cup, and Judd and Kandell Aggregate, Rfln. H. C. Boon; C.A.C. Cup and Brigadier-General Johnston Memorial Cup, Pros. H. V. Croxton. . Among the “toasts" honoured during the evening were “Parliament,” proposed by Rflmn. J. Burns and responded to by Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.; “The National Rifle Association,” proposed- by Dep^-Pres.. W. Judd and responded to by Mr. H. T. Marshall; “Kindred Clubs,” proposed by Rflmn. R. Caughley and responded to by Mr. Congreve, chairman of the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association, and Mr. R. H. Nlchol (Petone Rifle Club). Excellent musical and vocal' items were contributed by Messrs. Deans, Chandler, D. Hislop, Ross Williams, R. P. Emerson, Wilbur Davies, E. Meacoct, and J. Wilkinson.
