Bell, the Christchurch Public Librarian, writes: “When the commander of the German warship Emden visits New Zealand, it would be advisable for him to inform his countrymen just exactly where New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, for two letter* from Germany were received at the library yesterday, addressed as follow:— •Canterbury Public Library, Christchurch, New Zealand, Australia.’ and ‘Canterbury Public Library, Christchurch, New i Zealand. U.S.A.’ ”
