MUNICIPAL MARKET TO BE CLOSED
CHRISTCHURCH COUNCIL’S DECISION By Telegraph.—Dress Association. Christchurch, June 10. The Christchurch Municipal Market, opened in temporary buildings on a. vacant section owned by the electricity department . soon after the last Labour council took charge, is to be closed. The council to-night decided to sell the site for £9OOO. 1 . The committee is to discuss with fruitgrowers and others interested the question of whether support would be forthcoming to justify the council in establishing a larger market.
