DUNEDIN CITY HOTELS
WARNING TO CARELESS LICENSEES J Dominion Special Service. Dunedin, June 10. That the general conduct of hotels in the Dunedin city district had been satisfactory was the statement of the chairman (Mr. J. R- Bartholomew. S.M.) at the annual meeting of the Licensing Committee to-day, but, added the chairman, the police report made the qualification that five hotels had been “only fairly well conducted. * Commenting on the police report Mr. Bartholomew’ said the committee viewed the position with regard to the. live hotels as not at all satisfactory. “The police will see to it, he continued. “that every attention is given to ensure a strict compliance with the law and the committee will endorse any action it may be necessary to take.”
