BIBLE CLASS CONFERENCE

The first conference of the Wellington Inter-Bible Class Movement of Young Men and Young Women was held yesterday at the Methodist Church, Lower Hutt; The president (Mr. M. A. Tremewan) presided over a gathering of 65 leaders of Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Anglican, Church of Christ, Y.M.C.A., Y.W.C.A., and Toe H. Bible classes. The Rev. R. S. Watson, M.C., M.A., delivered the inspirational address at the morning session, which was followed by the conference business. Other speakers were Miss F. E. Kershaw, M.A., on the subject of “The possibilities and scope of inter-Bible class cooperation within and among local groups.” The afternoon session included an address by Mr. R. 8. Maunder and Mr. L. J. Greenberg spoke on “The possibilities and scope of co-operation between Bible Class District Unions and kindred bodies in the furtherance of (a) Bible class work, (b) community wide projects.” The Rev. C. H. Olds, 8.A., conducted the evening intercessory service, and the Rev. J. R. Blanchard, 8.A., dealt with the subject of “Christian youth and the world outlook.” Hospitality was extended by the ladies’ committee of the Hutt Methodist Church.
