ANNUAL DANCES
SENIOR CADETS’ BALL. The annual ball of the Second and Fourth Battalions Senior Cadets was held in the Garrison HaH last night and was as great a success as ever. Large as the hall is, it was none too large for the number of dancers. The scene was a very gay one, for the committee had spared no pains to make the hall attractive. Around the walls flags and tall tree fronds were placed, so that the place seemed literally enclosed with these. Across the roof hung more flags inter- - spersed with trails of lycopodium, and-' lines of coloured lights. The band stand •- was placed in the centre of the hall and •' was surrounded with greenery, and here - the Star band played most inspiriting music. Supper was served in the adjoining hall, while a small room was placed ' at the disposal of the official hosts and' f guests. During the evening, Miss Connop and partner gave an exhibition dance. The committee responsible for the arrangements consisted of Major Weir (president), Lieut. George (chairman), Lieuts. Dixon and Broberg, SergeantMajors Duncan and Baker, Sergeants B. AERO CLUB BALL. The Wellington Aero Club held its first annual ball in the Adelphi Cabaret last night, and judging by the success achieved another annual event may be said to be safely launched on the social tide. The ball had been arranged as the finale of the pageant which was to have taken place over the week-end, but had to be postponed. The ball, however, was gone on with, and was an undoubted success. Tha “aerial” nature of the occasion was marked by model aeroplanes, which hung from the electric lights. Balloons round the room soared towards the ceiling, and form- - ed a frieze. „ There was a good w gathering, every table being occupied. Some large parties were present. Among the guests were His Worship the Mayor and Mrs. Troup, the latter being one of the chaperons; the president of the club, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop, and .
