HARRIERS

OLYMPIC CLUB The Olympic Harriers, in conjunction witli the Hutt Valley Harriers, held their weekly run from Brooklyn under ideal conditions on Saturday. The til runners who turned out were divided into two packs under the leadership of W. Rae and T. McLOrlnan, who kept them moving at a steady pace, while the eight lady members went over the course on their own. The trail led MP to.the Monument, over’ towards Fitchett’s farm, down a long ridge and back home by way of Happy Valley A very fast run-in resulted in a win for C. Campbell ; (Olympic), with Matson (H.V.H.), second, and Wilson and Watkins, of Olympic, third and fourth. After the ruh the visitors were entertained at afternoon, tea, when Mr. I’erston, president of the Olympic Club,: welcomed the visitors, especially the ladles. On behalf of the H.V.Hy Mr."Goodall returned the compliments and expressed their thanks for the entertainment. ' '

SCOTTISH CLUB Nineteen members of the Scottish Club had an-excellent run from Seatoun on Saturday.' B. Woodcock and A. Black laid •the trail, a course extending over 10,000 metres. The country and surrounding territory about Seatoun provides wonderful going for the harrier sport. Excellent weather conditions and a keen nip in the atmosphere wns largely responsible for the amount of pep and enthusiasm shown over the distance. The following members are all showing vastly improved form: L. F. Dawkins, A. Black, Silvester, T, Pickering, C. Thompson, Boyes, R. Brown, and B. Lawer. A run-in over the last 200y<ls. ■resulted in another win for C. Thompson. T. Pickering and Silvester filled second nnd third places respectively. The run next week will be held from Brooklyn. Members are reminded thnt their destination is one stop before the terminus.
