ELECTORAL LAWS.

OFFICER VISITS AUSTRALIA. A passenger for Sydney by the Ulimaroa yesterday was the Chief Electoral Officer (Mr. G. G. Hodgkins), who will make investigations in Australia upon the operation of the electoral laws of the Commonwealth. Mr. Hodgkins, who carried out a similar mission some years ago, will report to the Minister in Charge of the Department (Hon. W. A. Veitch) the result of his inquiries.
