REPARATIONS
GERMAN OFFICIAL ATTITUDE UNCHANGED LITTLE HOPE OF AGREEMENT PUBLIC EXPECT FRESH OFFER BY SCHACHT (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Australian Press Association. (Rec. April 30, 7.15 p.m.) Berlin, April 30. Dr. Schacht is visiting Berlin, but no Cabinet meeting was held during the week-end, only conferences with Individual Ministers. It is assumed, therefore, that the German official attitude towards reparations is not changed. Official opinion Is that there is little hope of an eleventh-hour agreement, but the public expects Dr. Schacht to return to Paris with a reparations offer which will be more satisfactory to the Allies, and which will at any rate permit of the reopening of negotiations.
