TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, April 30, 1929, 4 p.m. The cyclone has moved away rapidly, and is now centred south-east of Chatham Island. A new depression is forming near Tasmania, and the weather Is more of the westerly type than has been usual of late. Moderate to strong south to west winds, reaching gale force at times about Foveaux Strait. Seas rough generally in New Zealand waters, but moder, ting somewhat on the East Coast. Strong south-westerlies and rather rough to rough seas In the Eastern Tasman. Weather still unsettled in western districts from Taranaki southwards, and In Southern Otago and Southland, with further showers. Mainly fair elsewhere, but with some scattered showers. Cold temperatures with frosts inland.
