SUNDAY CHARGE TO THE ZOO

Sir, —The ratepayers of Wellington are being asked to vote that a charge of Is. be made for admission to the-Zoo on Sundays. Are not all ratepayers paying « at present for the upkeep of the Zoo? So why should they vote that everyone who goes on Sunday should pay further for the privilege? If the portion of rates is insufficient to keep the place as a show place, the Council should increase the rates so that all shall pay.—l am, etc., A.V.E. Wellington, April 26.
