Sir, —Your correspondent, “E.P.T.", in the “Dominion” of the 18th, tells us that the Maori name for the cabbage-tree is “ti.” I quite agree with him in his information about manuka and tea-tree, but would like to point out that the Maori name for the cabbage-tree is "whanaki,” pronounced “wba/na/ki.” How this beautiful native ever came to be called cabbage-tree, is a misnomer that ha. puzzled the
