, Marton, April 18. At » largely attended meeting of lady hockey enthusiasts it was resolved to form a ladles’ hockey club in Marton to be known as the Athletic Hockey Club. Miss M. Jackson was appointed secretary, while Mr. J. D. le Comte was appointed coach and selector. The committee will comprise the captain, vice-captain, eoaeh and secretary. , _ . The directors of the Rangitikei Dairy Company. Ltd., have decided to pay Ib. 4d. per lb. for March supply of butterfat. The supply was 13 per cent, in excess of last year. The additional class-room at the Marton Junction School was completed last Monday. and inspected that evening by householders, who expressed pleasure with the addition. It has been decided to hold.the annual meeting of the Marton A. and P. Association on Wednesday. May 22. The following officers retire, but are eligible for re-election:—President, Mr. G, Morris: vice-presidents, Messrs. C. E. Vile, H. Smith, S. W. Morrison, and K. Stevens; honorary treasurer. Mr. F. R. H. Brice; committeemen, Messrs. W. E. Gibbons, Rex Marshall, H. J.-Cameron, D. McLean, D. Friedrich, A. V. Theed, W. Balter, E. Gudopp, H. Coleman, and E. Stent. “That this largely attended meeting of householders urges union the Minister of Health (through the member for the district) the necessity for having a full-time dental nurse stationed in Marton, so that not only children from Marton schools can receive attention, but children from the country schools.” This resolution was unanimously carried at the householders meeting held In the Marton District High School on Monday evening, when It was disclosed that under the present arrange ment the nurse spends only three months of the year here, and can treat only 90 children from Marton .schools.
