OVERHEARD AT BRIDGETHE HIT OF A “LIFETIME.” \ k A rubber had just ended, and we were putting down our scores. All of a sudden Old John on my left pulled out of his pocket f. mottled jade fountain pen and held it aloft, saying, “Isn’t that a dandy pen, boys?” We agreed that it certainly looked a beauty, first one asked to try it, then another. In a few minutes, we all tried it, and my! how that pen did write. The game was quite forgotten for a while John’s Sheaffer “Lifetime” pen being the centre of attraction. Funny thing we had another game last week and I noticed three of the fellows had Sheaffer “Lifetime” Pens nestling in their waistcoat pockets. Perhaps it was a coincidence, but I don’t think so. Sheaffer Lifetime Pens are made in two sizes, 575. 6d. and 505., both guaranteed for the user’s life. Other Sheaffer pens from 255., Pencils from 7s. 6d. Stationers or jewellers.
