While the question of the municipalisation of milk iwas being discussed at the meeting of the Christchurch City Council, the Mayor (Rev. J; K. Archer) said he had been amused at a councillor’s statement that many people preferred their milk in its natural state. “It reminds me.” said the Mayor, “of a story I heard about a country girl who came to Christchurch to take un a position as a domestic. She objected to our high pressure water supply, and on being asked the reason. said that where she came from the water had both colour and taste."
