NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE

PUSHING TRADE WITH SCOTLAND (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.} London, March 1. Sir James Parr, together with an official New Zealand party, visited Glasgow in connection with the campaign to push New Zealand produce. A luncheon was given by the Lord Provost, and later the party were the guests of the Clyde Navigation Trust, spending a whole day in the inspection of the docks and shipyards. They saw the Rangitata building at Brown’s Yards, and had a conference with merchants on the matter of more frequent direct shipments. Sir James Parr, at the Navigation Trust’s luncheon, appealed that New Zealand products should be given a trial on their merits. During a tour of the leading stores the fact was emphasised that the chief obstacle was that most steamers first of all call at London, consequently the date of their arrival at Glasgow is uncertain.
