STANDARD TIME

Sir, —I notice •in the Summer Time Act that in section 4 (2) it says: “This Act shall continue in force until the 30th day of September, 1920, and no longer, unless Parliament otherwise determines." Now, sir, why that date, when it practically expires on the third Sunday in March? 7 It seems to me that Parliament might, in its wisdom, make the time we are now enjoying the standard time throughout the year. It would suit all classes of the Dominion, and save the alteration of elocks. Workmen could put in eight hours by 5 p.m., which cannot be done now in winter without curtailing the dinner hour. -1 am, etc., M , M . February 28.
