CHARGE AGAINST RESIDENTS.' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, February 15. A sequel to an extraordinary occurrence at St. Heliers Bay on New Year’s Eve took place. at the Magistrate’s Cos-.-t to-day, when eight residents of that popular seaside resort were charged with disorderly conduct. It appeared that Constable Collins, as the result of a collision between two motor vehicles, was making the customary inquiries when his action was resented by a crowd which gathered around him, and it was alleged that they threatened to throw him into the sea. It was stated that it was only through the forbearance and tact of the constable that something serious did not result. „ \ Alexander Black was fined £3 and costs, and John Black and J. Thompson were each fined £2 and costs for disorderly haviour. The charges against the other five men were dismissed. --
