CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE
RANGE OF PRICES By Telegraph.—Press Association.' Christchurch, February 13. The third Christchurch wool sale was concluded to-day. A feature was the poor demand for merinos, of which a large clip of 253 bales was passed entirely after, the first few lots failed to reach sellers’ expectations. Prices for merinqs dropped about 3d. compared with the January sale here. Values at the recent Timaru sale were the basis for other classes of wool, which ■were down Id. to lid. on the January sale. New Zealand competition was not keen, except for super wools. Bradford buyers were more active than previously, and Continental bidders were keen. The top price of the sale this morning was 22jd. for eight bales of Wakare halfbred ewe. Rydal Down, Corriedale hogget (four bales) brought 21jd.; thirteen bales of Heatherlea three-quarterbred ewe made 19d. The top price for the class of nineteen bales of Woodburn crossbred ewe sold at 16}d. The following was the range of prices:—
