HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
COMMENDABLE PROGRESS MADE,
A meeting of the Board of Governors of the Hutt Valley High School was held during the week. 'Those present were Jfr. E. P. Kishworth (chairman), Messrs. Bobertsou, Callender, Stonefrouse, Huthnanee, Teagle, and the principal (Mr. H. Kidson). , Mr- Kidson repqrted that owing to the increased number of scholars it was found necessary to appoint- several D grade teachers. The number Of scholars attending last year had increased from 292 to 400, a very satisfactory increase. Upon the recommendation of the Appointments Committee the following teachers were appointed: Mr. B. H. C. McKenzie, M.A., with honours, of Wellington ; Miss Jean Thornton Colgan, 8.A., of Auckland; Mr. E. J. Aims, 8.A., of Shannon; Miss Lilian Mitchell, M.A., 8.A., of Wellington. It was announced that there were 80 applications for the position of assistant caretaker and groundsman. Six men were selected by the committee to interview the board, with the result that Mr. S. Taylor was appointed.
