LATE DR. LEES

MEMORIAL SERVICE AT BECKENHAM (Australian Press Association.) London, January 14. There was a large congregation at Christ Church, Beckenham, for the memorial service to the late Dr. Harrington Lees, Archbishop of Melbourne, who was formerly vicar of Beckenham. The chief mourners were Sir William Lees and Mr. and Mrs. Linnell. The clergy included the Bishop of Rochester. In the course of a’ eulogy, the vicar, the Rev. John Thorpe, said that the last seven years showed how successful Dr. Lees had been in his high office. He was a leader of outstanding ability and untiring energy, and their hearts went out to the young widow.
