A FRENCH VILLAGE AND ROAD MANNERS
The speed limit in French towns and villages is honoured more in the breach than the observance. The village of Arcissttc (Cantal) has found a delightful means of attracting motorists’ attention. The municipal council has had affixed to posts at each entrance to the village the following remarks:— If you drive slowly, You will see our village, It is very pretty. If you drive quickly You. will see our prison, It is very damp.
