SUPPLY OF NATURAL GAS
TAPPED 'WHEN DRILLING WELL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, January 11. When drilling a well at the Patutalii sub-station of the Waikaremoana hy-dro-electric scheme, a contractor tapped a supply of gas at 80ft., which shot a column of water 25ft. into the air. The water was bubbling with gas, the nature of which has not been ascertained. It is thought probably that it is marsh gas, such as has been found and utilised elsewhere on the Poverty Bay flats. __________
