Shortly after midnight recently, a certain Invercargill lady was aroused from her slumbers by a fluttering sound, the origin of which she was unable to ascertain owing to the darkness. The noise continued for some time and then suddenly the lady felt enter her ear something which set up an irritation so painful that finally she could not bear it, so she summoned assistance. An examination and painful probing revealed that a small moth, fluttering around in the darkness, had mistaken the lady’s ear for a convenient place in which -pend the night (says .the “Times”).
