OUTBOARD RACES

PETONE CARNIVAL ATTRACTION.

An added attraction to the many already provided at the Petone beach carnival, will be the outboard motor races to be held there this afternoon, commencing at 2.30. A good number of boats will participate, and some exciting and interesting sport is expected. The boat Miss John Jamieson will attempt to lower the existing speed record, and given favourable weather should come very near doing so. This event alone should be the means of attracting a good number of sport-lovers, as outboard racing in Wellington Harbour is not a very common sight. Side-shows, games, etc. will provide fun and amusement between races, and the ever-popular merry-go-rounds and chairoplanes will no doubt be well patronised.
