Acting on the suggestion of Bishop Cherrington that people should indulge in all forms of recreation on Sunday so long as they go to church, two young men created a mild sensation at St. Teter’s Cathedral, Hamilton, last Sunday (says the Auckland “Star”). They appeared at a service clad in flannels and carrying tennis rackets. Although both the tennis enthusiasts showed no sigps of self-consciousness, they sat at the back of the church behind a pillar. They seemed entirely oblivious of the amazed glances on either side. That .he youqg men were not irregular churchgoers was proved by their audible participation in hymns and prayers. As the result of falling from the veranda of his home in Kangiora Avenue, Kalwarra, shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday, J. Holden had to be removed to the Wellington Hospital by the Free Ambulance, suffering from a lacerated scalp and abrasions to the face.
