CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED

COLLISION WITH LORRY. L. Shardlow, aged 16, residing at No. 136 Eltham Street, Petone, was admitted to the hospital at 11.15 p.m. yesterday suffering from a compound fracture of the skull, and his condition is reported to be serious. Shardlow, who is an apprentice brass finisher, was riding a bicycle in Gracefield Road, Lower Hutt, when he collided with a lorry standing by the side of the road. The Free Ambulance were summoned and removed the injured youth to the hospital.
