THREE KILLED

MOTOR-CAR GOES OVER BANK ACCIDENT AT COROMANDEL Dominion Special Service. Auckland, November 25. Manaia Hill, Coromandel, was this, afternoon, about four o'clock, the scene of a motor accident in which three people were lulled, and three others injured. The names of the killed are: — Mr. W. Wilson, sen. Mrs. W. Wilson, jun. Jessie Wilson. The injured are: Mr. W. Wilson, jun., Mr. B. S. Carroll, and Margaret Wilson, aged six years. All the above were returning to Thames in a motor-car driven by Mr. W. Wilson, jun., after paying a visit to Mr. Frank Shepherd, mining manager of the Hauraki Gold Mining Company. As the motor-car, a new limousine, was travelling on the Manaia Hill, Mr. Wilson thought he heard another motorcar coming. He pulled over towards the bank, and, unfortunately, got into the water-table. As difficulty was encountered in getting out Mr. Wilson accelerated. The motor-car jumped out of the water-table, bounded across the -road, and went down a 60ft bank, and landed in a paddock, rolling over in its descent. It was damaged beyond repair. Mr. Wilson, senr., and Mrs. Wilson, junr., were killed almost immediately. Jessie Wilson was taken fo the Coromandel hospital and died about an hour after admission. Mr. Wilson, junr., suffered from bruises and shock, while Mr. Carroll sustained broken ribs and a hurt shoulder. Margaret Wilson was not badly hurt Mr. Wilson, senr., who resided at Devonport, Auckland, was visiting Thames on a holiday. Mrs. Wilson, junr., was the daughter of two early settlers of Thames, Mr. and Mrs. Clarke. Mr. B. S. Carroll is Government' Inspector of Locomotives at Thames, while Mr. Wilson, junr., is foreman at Messrs. A. and G. Price’s, locomotive engineers, at Thames. The two girls were daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, junr.
