Open Bay Island, a picturesque patch of sixteen acres, off OSuru, South Westland, but not much known, is reputed to be a fisherman’s paradise, the grounds teeming with groper, cod, trumpeter, crayfish, and sea eggs (reports the “Grey Star”). On trips to the Sounds, some time is usually spent visiting these fishing grounds, and good catches are invariably secured in a short time.
