STRING BAND CONCERT

Tbe concert given in the Y.W.C.A. Hall last night by the pupils of Mrs. Mildred Kenny, who teaches the guitar, banjo, and ukulele was remarkable in that all tin. Rems were given on those instruments. Some wonderful effects were produced. The mandollu band, cons'sting ot Mes dames Gilchrist and Howard. M sses M. Petersen, Nelson and N. Howe, Messis. M. Tonks, J. Trevor, C. Smith and Jackson, opened the programme with "Marche de Pet ts Pierrots," followed by “.Saxophone Waltz” Later they played “Brezza Mattiiteni ’ 'and “Blue Kidge Mountain Home.,, and ns " final number. "Comical Coons’ n d "Laugh, Clown. Laugh." The mandolin quartet gave ’Drifting and Di’eaming" and -Girl of M.v Dreams, also lie Me to Your Apron Strings,” a rythmical dlttv Tiie guitar band consisted of Mesdanies 1.. U. McKelvie and J Browme. Mjss ■p Collett and Messrs. C. hoal, h. duu, t ' Dawken< Seater. and Hilkle. Their niirnbers wore “Three o’clock in the Morn; ?ng." “Dream Boat, Parlour Clock, and “Hawaiian Islands Maltz. An “Hawaiian Love Song” was given as a guitar trio. In the banjo section Messrs. T and H. Shilcock. W. Brackenridge and it Metsonthen were tbe players, and they gave "Drum Major." a duo. and Gold nx-eers’ March” (trio). A Juvenile band consisted of Misses S. Baker and N. Waters. Jack Gilchrist (guitar). K. Martin and K. Webster (mandolin). Miss J. Mvers and Bernard Ryan (ukulele) and thev were heard in a suitable melody. “Honolulu Moon.” as well as other numbers Mrs. B. Kenny. Misses L. Gell, T. Smith, nnd Mr. J. McKelvie were the ukulele plavers and till contributed to tiie evening’s entertainment. Mrs. M. Tonks sang "Salaam”.(Lang), and “Love’s Might (Temple).Mr. IT. Patchett gave recitations, also Mr. J Watchman and Miss Lottie Ttnstall. these assisting Mrs. Kenny in presenting a most enjoyable programme.
