THE MELBOURNE CUP
PROPOSED REBROADCAST. If atmospheric conditions are favourable an endeavour will be made by station 2YA Wellington to rebroadcast a running description of the race for the' Melbourne Cup nt 3 p.m. to-day. The description will be relayed from the Flemington racecourse to Sydney and thence broadcast by the short-wave station 2ME, operated by 1 Amalgamated Wireless Ltd. An attempt will be made to pick up the at Wellington on a shoSt-wave set and then relayed to 2YA. With this proposal in view 2YA will go on the air at 2.45 p.m. to-day—a quarter of an hour earlier than usual.
