A STREET IMPROVEMENT

KINK REMOVED FROM ONEPU ROAD.

The straightening of the northern end of Onepu Road where it connects with Coutts Road is a much-needed street improvement. Formerly Onepu Road, which is very straight and well formed and extends from Courts Road to the Lyall Bay beach, had parallel building lines until it 'approached Courts .Street, when, through some inadvertence in the original subdivision, the road took a turn inwards on the western side, the only kink in this fine highway. This kink has now been removed by the acquisition of a triangular piece of land on the corner (which is unoccupied), an addition to the road space that will prove of inestimable benefit to motor traffic to and from Lyall Bay. This new portion of roadway will be paved with hot-mix this week, a work which will add another little bit to the many improvements that are being effected to roads all over the city.
