Sir, —It may come as a shock to Messrs. Batt and Toogood to know that the pedestrian has the first right of the road in”law and not merely an equal right with the motorist. And so he should; and -it will be for the motorist to prove culpable carelessness on the part of the pedestrian should an accident occur to the latter, in order that the said motorist be exonerated from blame. —I am, etc.,' t ■ ' H.
