An event which was not included Jn the official programme at the Technical College sports, but which created a good deal of interest, was a race over 100 yards between R. Neame, the junior champion, and the whippet, High Jinks. Neame was allowed only 30 ygrds start (says the “Southland Times”) and was passed about 10 yards from the tape.
