BRITISH MINERS’ SECRETARY

CONFERENCE TO CONSIDER POSITION (Australian Press Association.) (Rec. October 28, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 27. The executive of the Miners’ Federation has decided to summon a special conference of delegates to consider the position of Mr. Cook, the secretary. This is a sequel to an accusation that Cook in the early stages of the coal strike in 1926 signed a secret document, drawn up by intermediaries, containing favourable suggested terms of settlement which were not disclosed to the executive.
