■ ELECTION OF OFFICERS By Telegraph.—Press Association. , Christchurch, October 2(>. The annual general meeting of delegates of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held to-night. Tne following officers were electedpatron, Sir Charles Bergusson; president, Sir Braneis Bell; treasurer, .Mr. \V. 11. M'iusor; secretary, Mr. J. Peake; auditor, -Mr. A. B. Burn; committee, Messrs. B. It. Caygili, A. T. Donnelly, 11. \V. Taylor, J. Itamsuen, P. Dalrymple. The meeting discussed al length the proposed change of form of competition for tne Hawke Cup. The council dually decided that the competition be left as it is for the present. It was decided to write Lord Hawke to a’ski his permission to change the form of the competition if at any time the council might wish to do so. A motion expressing appreciation of the work doue for cricket by Mr. Dan Reese, and Mr. J. S. Barrett, on the council, was carried. It was proposed to make both life members but at the wish of the two gentlemen concerned the matter-was held over. A tribute was also paid to the retiring president, Mr. F. Arkwright.
