■♦— —— NEW SOUTH WALES v. MAORIS The game between the touring New South Willes team and a fifteen selected from the Maori players of the Dominion at Athletic Park this afternoon should furirish a brilliant exhibition of Rugby. The Light Blues have delighted followers of the game from one end of the Dominion to the other with their speed and cleverness, and the abandon with which they throw the leather about. Everyone will be anxious' to have a last look at these speedy young New South Welshmen, who .defeated New Zealand in the third Test match at Christchurch last Saturday. The .Maoris have long been famed as Rugby exponents, and they have given to New Zealand some great players, such as Gage, Madigan, Taiaroa, Takarangi, tlie Wynyards, and the Warbricks. The present generation of Maoris are maintaining the high traditions of their race on the Rugby field. To-day’s team will include G. Nepia and L. Paewai, of the famous 1924 All Blacks, and several members of the Maori team which toured Great Britain and France in 192 G. The teams will be constituted as follow :— NEW SOUTH -WALES. R. Rosenblum, Emergencies: Backs, W. Hemingway, R. Burge, A. Smairl, IT. Snell, B. Caldwell, H. Bartley: forwards, 11. Abbott, E. Bardsley, H. W. Langenberg. MAORIS. G. Nepia; Falwasser, D. Pelham. R. Jury; Rata, Paewai; Shortland; S. Gemmell ; Pine, Raroa, Reside, Pika, "Wilson, Tatana, Leach ; emergencies : Turei, Parnta, Pika, Mr. 11. S. Leith will act as referee. The Oriental and Poneke junior teams will provide a curtain-raiser to the big match. The referee will bo Mr, O. Harding, of Sydney.
