HUTT VALLEY CLUB. The half-yearly meeting of the Hutt Valley and A.A. Club took place on Wednesday at Petone. there being a good attendance of members. The president (Sir. A. Hadley), presided. As shown by the report the 1927 athletic season was an outstanding success and after a laid start the enthusiasm rapidly increased to reach the total ot 54 active members. At the commencement of the season tlie liabilities were .indeed depressing and by dint of hard work and co-operation of tlie members were, at tlie end of tlie season, showing a healthy credit balance. Tlie inauguration ot a ladies’ section proved a distinct success and tlie runners ran with distinction against the more experienced city runners. Tlie following officers wore elected:— President, Mr. A. Hadley; Mr. Kirkwood was added to the list of vice-presidents; general committee. Messrs. R. Ross, G. Clark, and R. Wickman; secretary. Mr. A. Marshall; handicapper, Mr. H. Sanders; starter, Mr. H. Sanders; judges. Messrs. J. Goodall. S. Townsend, J. Ewart, C. Goddard: marksmen, Messrs. G. Clark, and J. Stapelton: marshal, Mr. A. Hadley; referee, Mr. R. I’omfroy: call steward, Mr. K. Downes; megaplionist, Mr. J. Goodall; timekeepers, Messrs. A. Hadley, M. Thompson, T. Blytli. and R. McWhirter; Press reporter, Mr. R. Freeman; sub-com-mittee, Messrs. F. Henwood, C. AVatt, V. Smith. G. Markland, Mrs. V. Smith and Miss M. Hodgkinson.
