AMATEUR BILLIARDS

INTER-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. Two more games for the Wellington provincial inter-club championship were played at the showroom of Messrs. Billiards Limited last night. The opponents in the first game were Elliott (Commercial Travellers’ Club) and Devine (Petone Working Men’s Club). Devine won decisively by 147 points, the scores being: Devine 300, Elliott 153. Breaks registered were: Devine, 34, 25, 21, 48, 01 (unfinished) ; and 25, 22, 21, by Elliott. The second game, Scott (Rangitikei Club. Feilding) v. Petley (Commercial Travellers’ Club) resulted in a win for Petley. who secured a lead early and maintained it throughout. Scott appeared to be rather unfortunate with some shots, being penalised once for striking before the balls had quite finished rolling. The final scores in this game were: Petley 300, Scott 17S, with breaks by Petley of 40, 40, 2S; and a 22 by Scot t. To-night at 7.30 Duncan (Returned Soldiers’ Club) will meet Devine, the winner to contest the final with Tetley on Friday night at 7.30 p.m.
