CYCLE ROAD RACE

PALMERSTON NORTH TO WELLINGTON

Record entries have been received for the amateur cycle road race from 1 alnierston North to Wellington, which will take place on Saturday. Competitors from all parts of the Dominion arc Jo take part. The race is to start at 8.45 a.m., or an hour earlier in the event of a southerly wind. It is expected that the first rider to complete the journey of about 10miles will arrive at the Basin Reserve between 3 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. The scratch men, Lukey and Grose, of Canterbury, are giving away starts up to 70 minutes. Handicaps for the event, which, is regarded as the biggest test for cyclists in the Dominion, have been declared as follow:
