IMPORTANT CITY DEVELOPAIENT. LAST OF THE TOWN ACRES. Originally a Crown grant made to Air. William Nicols in 1856 the wellknown Young Estate, situated at the corner of Elizabeth and Brougham Streets, was acquired by the late Air. Thomas Whyte Young over sixty years ago, and has remained intact ever since. As residential land in Wellington Central lias become practically unprocurable, many citizens have wondered why this splendid block of level land has not been offered to the public. Situated as it is, in a locality famed for its healthy atmosphere, easily accessible, within two minutes walk from Courtenay Place, the Young Estate certainly appeals to home-seekers as the ideal home site. To meet with popular inquiry the estate has now been subdivided into eighteen splendid residential sites, the property being opened up by the construction of a new road running off from Elizabeth Street. The eighteen sections are to be offered at public auction on Thursday, September 20. at 7.30 p.m. by Alessrs. Harcourt and Co., in conjunction with Alessrs. E. Palliser and Co.', from whom full particulars may be obtained. — (Published by arrangement.)
