AERO CLUBS

PURCHASE OF AERODROMES Tlie Defence Department aerodromes at Auckland and Christchurch were made available to Aero Chibs as a special endeavour to assist clubs to get on their feet and the Department was not involved in any additional expense thereby. Replying to Mr. T. K. Sidey (Dunedin South) in the House of Representatives yesterday, the Minister of Defence (Hon. F. J. Rolleston) said tlie Government could not subsidise the purchase of aerodromes in other centres owing to the enormous cost that would be involved if all were to be treated alike. In other parts of the Empire clubs were normally required to provide their own .aerodromes before they were approved.
