FINAL ROUND OF A GRADE HUTT’S THIRD SUCCESSIVE WIN The final round In A grade was fired last week, aud the Hutt team wore again winners, tot the third year in succession. Their shooting all through the season has been of H very high standard, and they only suffered one defeat. In their final match last week against Brooklyn they put on the good score of 476. The congratulations of all miniature enthusiasts go out to them for* their third win tn tlie Neuson’s inter-club matches. The following are the scores in last week's matches :— A GRADE.—Ninth Round.

Public Service defaulted to Petone Ladies. The Petone Ladies’ scores were: .Mrs. Pratley 65, Miss Brocklebank 63, Mrs. Gilbanks 62, Miss Jones 59, Mrs. Bryan 58, Mrs. Scott 58, Mrs. Leadbeater 40; total, 405. The results of Hutt Valley v. Brooklyn, Railway v. Petone Central, and Suburbs v. Harbour Board have not come to hand. HARBOUR BOARD CLUB. The Harbour Board Club has just concluded its first two trophy shonts for the season. The first one, for trophies donated by the club patron, Mr. J. Marchbanks. was won by W. Mcßain, handicap score 207.1, with R. H. Nicholl second, 207, off scratch. In the B section W. McKenzie was first with 207.92, and G. Cambridga second with 206.71. Other scores were: T. McGill 200.48. S. Waters 205.72, 11. Prince 204.91, L. McCarthy 204.91, C. Williams 204.7, L. P. Wrigley 201.56, W. Swift 199.74 (all A section), G. Whitfield 205.86, J. Gifford 205.8, L. Philpott 204.88, T. Sewell 201.11 (B section). Mr. H. E. Nicholls, a life member, donated the trophies for tho second competition. The winners were: A section, T. McGill 205.68 and S. Waters 205.45: B section, W. McKenzie 207.90, and S. Cults 207.72. Others scores were: H. Prince 205.35, C. Williams 205.21, R. H. Nicholl 205, W. Mcßain 204.84, L. McCarthy 202.27, W. Swift 201.51 (A section), T. Sewell 206.20, G. Cambridge 206, G. Whitefield 205.6, L. Philpott 205.44 (B section). The club fired a postal match with the Napier Miniature Rifle Club, a draw resulting. The conditions were 12 men a side, 10 best scores to count. The scores were:—Napier: Barlow 70, Kearney 69, Hawkins 69. Nicholson 68, Bradley 68, Logan 68, Duthie 60, Pederson 60, Amundsen 64, Mundv 63; total, 671. Harbour Board: Nicholl 70, McGill 69. Waters 68, H. Prince 68, Philpott 68. McCarthy 67, Williams 67, Mcßain 00, Rigarlsford 64, Swift 04; total, 671. LOWER HUTT CLUB. Last Wednesday the Lower Hutt Club’s A team met Brooklyn, on the Hutt Range in the final for the A grade inter-club championship, and defeated them by twelve points, thus winning the A grade shield for the fourth time in succession. After tlie match the captain of the Brooklyn team congratulated Hutt on their performances throughout the season. The following is the result of the Haro Cup, the conditions being the highest aggregate in the-A grade intcr-club matches: —Morris 613, Goldfinch 613, F. Ching 611, F. Kershaw, senior, 611, J. Ross 611. In the shoot-off Morris and Goldfinch tied again with 68. They then fired another seven rounds and Morris won by one point. The results of the third monthly competition and Morris Cup are as follow:—A gradie, F. Kershaw, junior; B grade, H. Caldwell; C grade, Veitch. A postal match was fired last Monday against the Wood Club. Nelson, resulting in a win lor Hutt by 17 points. The detailed scores are as follow:—Hutt: F. Kershaw, senior 100, J. Ross 99, F Ching 99, P. Goldfinch 98, F. Kershaw, junior. 98. T. Warburton 96, C. Lambert 95, D. Haden 95, H. Morris 95, J. Bitters 91: total. 966. Wood: B. Jones 97, W. Tidd 97. F. Gorrie 97, S. Spencer 96, D. Hargreaves 96. J. Oaklev 94, H. Simpson 94, J. Coote 94. O. Hargreaves 93. J. Walker 91; total, 949. The A grade aggregate for the 1928 season was won by H. V. Croxton, of the Publie Service Club, with the splendid average of 69. extending over nine interclub shoots. He dropped only eleven points during all these matches, which is indeed a good performance. The name of. Croxton is very well known to all shooting men. both in miniature and at Trentham, and any advice asked* of him is always freely given and accurate. NEXT WEEK’S MATCHES.
