TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.

Meteorological Office, Wellington, September 3, 4 p.m. A cyclone is centred south of Norfolk Island, while adepression in the south Tasman Sea is losing intensity. Strong north-east to northerly winds north of New Plymouth and East Cape, reaching gale force in places; elsewhere northwesterlies —strong in Foveaux Strait, but otherwise moderate and later backing to southerlies. Seas rough south of Cape Egmont and between Castlepoint and Akaroa; elsewhere moderate, but rising north of East Cape. Strong northerly winds in the' eastern Tasman Sea, later backing to southerlies with rough seas. Unsettled weather over most of the North Island, with some rain, heavy in places, and gradually extending southwards. Temporarily fair elsewhere.
